Dr Esme Dark is a Clinical Psychologist who works as a trial therapist within the Clinical Psychedelic Research Lab at Monash University, where she has been centrally involved in pioneering clinical research in this emerging field.

Her work includes the world-first clinical trial investigating medicine-assisted psychotherapy for Generalised Anxiety Disorder—currently the largest study of its kind in Australia—as well as participation on the therapy team for trials exploring Medicine-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD in military veterans and first responders. In these roles, Dr Dark contributes to the development of safe, ethically robust therapeutic protocols within tightly regulated clinical environments.

Beyond her direct clinical work, she brings extensive experience in clinical design, therapist training, and protocol development across multiple psychedelic research trials, helping to shape the psychotherapeutic frameworks that underpin these studies and advancing the integration of depth-oriented and somatic approaches within contemporary medicine-assisted psychotherapy.

Dr Esme Dark is the founder of a private psychology practice based in Melbourne, Australia, through which she works therapeutically with adults, provides clinical supervision and works as a wellbeing consultant for numerous organisations. She also runs therapeutic group programmes that draw on her skills in somatic psychotherapy, nature based practice and creative arts therapy.
